The Unconditional Love of the True God

The word "God" is perhaps the most common word in the world to refer to the last base of our being, but the name of God often lends itself to cultures, nations and peoples. Universal Love on the other hand is not local, or universal; You are not bound culture. In addition to the time when we use the word God we are inclined to look for a book, a congregation, a sacred place or a chosen people. All these variables make the real God and real difficult to locate and to complicate matters images of God differ from one place to another and when a culture speaks of God usually based on their own experiences in the exclusion of others may also have their own experiences. When I visited Abalama, my birthplace in the summer of 2010 to pay my respects to Dad after being away for 30 years, my mother knelt and thanked Tamuno, the God of the Ijaw people of Nigeria for bringing me home safely. I stood there waiting for a hug welcome home, but the mother was busy thanking Tamuno to answer your prayers.

If the mother was born in India and were a Vaishnavite, who is a devotee of Lord Vishnu and I returned to Bombay, for example, after 30 years could thanking the Lord Vishnu to bring safely home. If it were a Shivite, who is a devotee of Lord Shiva, on the contrary she would be thanking the great god Shiva to hear their prayers. If the mother was born in Tibet as the mother of Milarepa, the Buddhist saint beloved and assuming that lived to see the return of his son from his years of study with Marpa the translator, the direct disciple of the great Naropa, I'd be giving Buda thanks for bringing me home. Again, if she was the mother of Ibn Battuta, the Moroccan Muslim scholar who traveled for more than 30 years through the Islamic world and assuming he was alive when he finally returned she would thank God. And if the mother was born in Tarsus as the mother of St. Paul, a Christian missionary and theologian, and if St. Paul returned home safely after his missionary journeys mother would be giving thanks to Jesus. Finally, if the mother was the mother of a yogi, that is someone who devotes her life only to the spiritual quest, the search for union with the ultimate reality, and the yogi returned home after 30 years mother I would be giving thanks to Universal Love, Universal spirit or Brahman.

I could go on and give many examples in which the image of God differs from one culture to another and sometimes within the same culture. No doubt this brief example that there is a plurality of images of God and our question is what image is the image of the true God? It is the true God Brahman, the Universal Spirit that permeates the universe, without links to any culture, group of people or nation and the image without any particular, as revealed in the Upanishads: He is the only God, hidden in all beings , all-pervasive, being in all beings, watching over all works, who dwells in all beings, the witness, the perceiver, the only free qualities. (Svetasvatara Upanishad 6.11)? Tamuno It is the true God, the God of the Ijaw people of Nigeria, who thanked the mother for me to return home safely? It is the true God of Lord Vishnu to return at the end of the age as Kalki to judge the world? It is the true God of Lord Shiva creates and destroys the world? He is the true God Yahweh as revealed in the Tanakh who told the Israelites: If you hear my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be My own possession among all peoples; for all the earth is mine, and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. (Ex 19.5 to 6)? It is the true God God as revealed in the Qur'an: Say: He is God, the One! God, the eternally besought of all! He neither begets nor was begotten. And there is none comparable to him. (Quran 112)? Is the true God of Jesus as revealed in the New Testament: Jesus answered: "I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me .. (John 14: 6) is the true God Lord Krishna whose cosmic form was revealed in the Bhagavad Gita: If the light of a thousand suns to rise in the sky at the same time, it would be as the light of the great spirit (Bhagavad Gita 11:12) is.? God true Buddha sitting in the middle of a basic Buddhist Mandala and radiates to the four parts of the universe?

Everything indicates that it is not easy to determine the true God by reading the texts of different cultures. Everyone says they have the true God who is not surprising, since there is a wise culture would pretend to have a lower or a false God. However, the issue is not new. Today if there is a way to know that we are worshiping the true God who would be safe and happy that we are doing the right thing. However, for our ancestors that their gods as superior and above all other gods was a coveted title. With it they could become the dominant culture in the region and as a dominant culture that could take the land of others, capturing slaves to work menial labor and to offer sacrifices to their gods. So when we become obsessed with the question "Who is the real or true God?" In fact, we want to behave like our ancestors. We want to terrorize our neighbors. There is nothing wrong however, in the belief that their God is the true God, but there is something really wrong when you start to force his God onto others or when you begin to judge others on the basis of our God. The dangers of making any God the true God is the power that gives people who believe in God. According to the Introduction to the universal holy book "which is the day the world will go into the darkness again. It will be slavery, the Holocaust, ethnic cleansing, genocide and all imaginable evils by the human mind." We can belittle others and rejoice in the belief that only we have the absolute truth and walked like gods to terrorize our neighbors but we must never forget that we live in a changing universe. As to others also touches us and we should not for a minute think that there was going to happen to us. So next time you think about being on top of the world and terrorizing its neighbors turn around and be on the receiving end. You will soon realize that does not feel right when you're the victim.
